I spent Saturday and Sunday at Adelaide Writer’s Week and heard some very inspiring authors speak about their work.I really liked the new set up which had a very open feel about it and I especially loved the woven stick-work which formed the backdrop to the stages. The weather was glorious Adelaide autumn weather which set the scene for a perfect few days for me.
On Saturday I heard Margo Lanagan speak about her inspiration for her writing and about her new book, Sea Hearts, which I immediately went out and bought and then lined up to get her signature on it.Other fascinating authors were Andrea di Robilant, Kelly Link and Ron Rash.
I attended the “Adelaide Festival Awards For Literature” to see some great South Aussies win some awards.
On Sunday I heard Alice Pung, Miguel Syjuco, Kate Grenville, Ursula Dubosarsky, Andrew Joyner and Ron Rash. I could listen to Ron Rash read all day. His Appalachian Mountain accent was something else. Ron talked about “writing hard” and so I have made a pact with myself to “write hard” and get some work completed and some new ideas started.
Nice write up!!! I like always your writer language, Means, I read your write up that i felt I listen to you face to face. Great.

Hi Suresh, yes if you ever get the chance to attend a Writer’s Week or Event it is well worthwhile attending. It is fascinating hearing the stories behind the stories. Cheers. Jane Jolly Children’s Author
