One Step At A Time

On Friday I had a meeting with Dr Adrian Von Der Borch from the Medical Association for the Prevention of War, Helen Stanger from Safe Ground ( formerly Australian Network to Ban Landmines and Cluster Munitions) ) and Sally Heinrich, illustrator, to discuss the potential publishing of my story One Step At A Time, about a baby elephant which steps on a landmine, and an exhibition to go with it on Friday 4th April 2014 in Adelaide.

To raise the money for publishing the picture book we are looking at the possibility of Crowd Funding. This is where through the internet you advertise your cause and anyone who feels they may like to donate to it does so. Apparently amazing amounts of monies have been raised by people with all sorts of causes through this means.

My next job is to get in contact with the following associations to see if they any funds which they could direct towards the publishing of the book:

New Internationalist

Doctors For The Environment

Psychologists For Peace

Save The Children

Health and Human Rights

Halo Trust

Soroptimists

U N Children’s Fund

International Committee of Red Cross

Women’s International League For peace and Freedom

MAD for Peace

If any readers of this blog have any other ideas about where funds could come from, please let me know. I will keep you all updated through this blog.
