Pyjama Story Night

On Friday May 4th over 150 students and their parents braved the cold damp night to attend our inaugural Pyjama Story Night. This event was held as one of our special activities for the National Year of Reading.

Staff had set up 5 differently themed rooms. There was a dog story room, a teddy room, a Bob Graham room, Farmer Schultz’s Ducks room and a scary stories room.

After collecting a nice hot Milo from the canteen everyone made their way to their room of choice to settle  in and listen to a collection of stories. The rooms had been made comfortable with rugs, pillows and teddies.

As everyone emerged from the storytelling at the end of the night there were calls to do it again next week and next term, so it will become an annual fixture on our Resource Centre calendar.

The idea for the night came from my recent trip to India to the Adani Dav School at Mundra, Gujarat where this is also an annual event.

Waiting for the scary stories.

  2. Hi Suresh,
Hope all is well at Adani Dav School in Mundra. What is the weather like at the moment? Is it beginning to get really hot? We have beautiful autumn days here with lots of colourful autumn leaves falling.
