Truck Stops, Lassis and the Port of Mundra

On Saturday morning we got up at 4:00am to be picked up to be taken to the Railway Station to catch our train to Gandhidham. All very tired aboard  the train but no sleep was had. We arrived in Gandhidham at 1:00pm and were met by a driver from the Adani School at Mundra. Another hour and a half drive to the Port of Mundra.

Along the way the driver kept asking us if we wanted a lassi or chai. We kept sayong “No” because we just wanted to reach our destination. However half way there he insisted that we have a lassi and he pulled into a truck stop with a tea shop. Told us to wait in the car because it was too hot to get out and he went and ordered us a lassi.

Well, it was the most amazing lassi I have ever  had. Delivered to the car it came with cashews, dried fruit and coconut on top. I watched as the driver stirred his all in together and ate it and so followed suit. It was lip-smacking good. When he asked if we wanted another it was all I could do to say “No”.

We then continued on our way when we were finally deposited at the Adani Guest House where we will be for the next 5 nights. Once again, everything laid on and amazing service.

Next week we will be based here and at the Adani School.

The lassi!!

Most trucks are decorated something like this but this one is super impressive.

  1. Hi Jane, Ian and Mia, what amazing adventures you are having, this is fantastic Jane, i love getting on each night and hearing what you have all been up to. Night before school goes back, arghhhh! Think of us tomorrow when the fun begins for Term four, bella really misses you, she wanted me to ask you a question one night on the blog because you would have a fantastic thought. I am so glad you have all been well and i’m sure you are making the most of every minute. Keep safe and you are all in our thoughts often. love the garwoods xxxx

  2. Hi the Garwoods, great to hear from you. Isn’t this a great way to communicate? Good luck with Term 4, especially Bella and all of the Transition stuff she will be doing. I am sure she will make a brilliant Transition poster. Any time you want to ask a question go ahead. We check our e-mails and blog just about every day. Tomorrow we start our time at Adani School here in Mundra. I tell you what, when I get back to Oz I am going to try and make a lassi like the one we had at the truck stop. I can still taste it. I hope we have one on the way back. Hope your last night of holidays was a good one. We are having fun watching the pigeons land on our windowsill here. Love the Jolly/Woods
