Waitpinga Walk on the Wild Side

On Sunday I walked part of the Heyson Trail from Waitpinga to Victor Harbour…in my Rossi boots, with a group of friends who were rather more spectacularly decked out in walking gear than me. However I lasted the four hour walk and it was stunning. Wild flowers all along the trail and magnificent views of the coast with gulls wheeling and soaring.

We passed one runner or rather he passed us and one couple with backpacks who looked like they were going to camp along the way. Apart from that we were the only ones on the trail. Incredible. Only one and a bit hours from Adelaide and it is all yours for the taking. When I think of the distances we travel to see these kinds of environments, it’s crazy really. It’s all here in our own back yard.
