Arthouse Backpackers

We are in Launceston for the Australian National Basketball titles following Mia’s Ivor Birge team.

We are staying at the Arthouse Backpackers, a beautiful old weatherboard building, complete with  bell tower, on the banks of the Esk River. In its heyday it was used as a parsonage…hence the bell tower. Now it is used by backpackers from all over the world.

The rooms are big and spacious with polished floor boards and the whole premises has a good vibe.

You can hire bikes from the Backpackers which we did for a couple of days and rode around the city.
