I recently found this bangle for sale from LOOM designs. It is hand crafted by artisans from northern Laos, where 250,000000 bombs were dropped by the USA from 1964-1973. Yes, that is 250 MILLION!
These bracelets have been recast from aluminium bomb casings, providing income for metal workers’ families, and contributes to the development of the community and land clearing of UXO (Unexploded Ordnances) in Laos.
Just a small little object but a great conversation starter for when I do school visits.
