Jaisalmer at Last

We have finally made it to Jaisalmer. What an adventurous two days. But it was worth it. This place is amazing. The town has grown around the base of a huge fort. Jaisalmer is called the Golden City because of the colour of the stonework used in the buildings. We are staying in a great little hotel in a room fit for a king. Saw the sunset tonight on the Fort which was beautiful. There was a gypsy playing a traditional Indian instrument, and also trying to sell CDs, as the sun sank slowly over Jaisalmer.

We have seen lots of diyas (ghee lamps) in front of houses as it gets closer and closer to Diwali. We are expecting lots of fireworks tomorrow night.
