Love this quote about writing for children from Neil Gaiman:
This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until it’s done. It’s that easy, And that hard.”
Which is what I have been doing most of the day, putting one word after the other, and loving it. Have managed to knock up a few manuscripts over the last few weeks and have done a lot of polishing of others. Some have been sent off…others are still waiting for the final polish and a tweak here and there to get them perfect. No point sending them off unless you are absolutely sure they are the complete, finished, polished, best story you can produce.
