At the temple he took off his shoes and lit the candle. As he entered the temple the candle created shadows that danced on the walls and he heard the soft soothing sound of the monks’ slow chanting prayer. A heavily scented smoky fragrance filled the air and every now and again a cool breeze drifted through the open window and the candle wavered slightly. A sound which mimicked birds chirping filled his ears, its creator a string of Buddhist bells strung up cleverly from the ceiling.
