I had a fabulous day today at the Blair Athol Birth – Yr. 7 School where I worked with 8 of the Junior Primary classes and one of the small literacy groups.
The sessions focussed on how a book comes to fruition, from my early ideas, looking at my notebooks. the storyboards by the illustrators and and then some of the dummy books before arriving at the finished published book.
I also shared Tea and Sugar Christmas and One Step at a Time with the classes.
The school has a high multi-cultural population and bases its education on the Emilio Reggio style of educating.
I snuck a look at the flourishing veggie garden and was very jealous of the wood fired pizza oven!
