Langhorne Creek Writer’s Festival Young Writer’s Day

I have had an enjoyable morning at the Langhorne Creek Writer’s Festival Young Writer’s Day at the Langhorne Creek Campus of EFS.

Langhorne Creek local, Heather Webster, has been the driving force behind the festival and together with Paul Jude, Head of Campus at Lang. Creek, they presented a great day full of opportunities for the students.

I was one of a group of four authors and illustrators who spoke to the students of our work and then ran a workshop. I was joined by illustrator/author Andrew Joyner, author Jo Croser and poet Jude Aquilina.

Winners were presented with their certificates and prizes by Alexandria Mayor Keith Parkes. The job of judging went to local ex-teacher Marg Bartlett who had the pleasure of reading through 68 stories.

A tasty sausage sizzle ended the day with some students proudly taking back a box of books for their school.
