Story Ideas? There Are a Few Out Here!

Have just returned from a  camping trip to Farina.

Where is Farina you ask? Or maybe you don’t because you know where it is.

Farina is north of Lyndhurst and south of Marree in outback South Australia. It is a ghost town now but in its hay-day it was a booming town, on the old Ghan railway line, which boasted two pubs, a bakery, post office, house of ill repute etc etc. Unfortunately the boom times didn’t last for long and now the town is a set of crumbling but fascinating ruins.

And of course where there is a town there is a cemetery. And I love exploring cemeteries. We  walked around both the Farina and the Marree cemeteries and wondered at the lives these people led and the hardships they faced.

These photos all lead me to ask a million questions and think about the stories behind these lives. And so…my next quest is to try and answer my questions…and maybe those answers will lead to some stories. Maybe.
