Pembroke School Visit

Have just finished three days at Pembroke School giving author talks to classes from Yr 2-6.

The campus I was at used to be the old Girton Girls College.

What a beautiful school! It has a lovely atmosphere and the walls are bedecked with glorious artwork done by students and visiting artist-in-residence.

The Year 6 classes are very switched on, especially the students from the Critical Literacy group, who asked and answered some tricky questions.

The Year 2’s enjoyed looking at my historical artefacts about the Tea and Sugar Train and everyone was interested in the Morse Code tappers I had set up. Nothing like having a go at playing ‘spies’!

I was set up in “The Tower” which is actually the Spanish room

Have tried to insert more photos but it keeps telling me they are too big, even though they are taken with same camera! Anyway, you get the idea!
