Revisiting Dao Thanh’s Grave at Stenhouse Bay

During our recent camping trip to the Yorke Peninsula we went back to the grave of Dao Thanh, the Vietnamese sailor on whom “Glass Tears” is based.

I took some photos looking across the top of the cliff and across the bay to where the grave is.

If you find the first jetty pylon and move your eye up the cliff you can just see the fence around the grave on the edge of the cliff.

A closer view. Not bad real estate!

I am not really sure what these markings mean or represent. If anyone knows I would love to find out.

If I ever get to travel to Vietnam I would love to find out more about Dao Thanh’s family.
