A few interesting things have happened over the last few weeks.
On the weekend of October 23 I travelled to Canberra for the launch of Robert Ingpen’s new book Wonderlands. I had also been asked to speak at the event about working with Robert as an author. My speech went over well and I managed to get a few copies of Radio Rescue signed by him while there.
Last week I spent a day at Pt Elliot Primary School for an author visit. Spoke to classes from Yr 2-7 and once again they were all very receptive and interested.
This week my school Eastern Fleurieu School, Strathalbyn R-6, hosted Katrina Germein as a visiting author. She presented to groups from Reception to Year 6 and had some fun activities for the students to participate in. On Friday afternoon we did a road trip to the Milang R-6 Campus where she presented to the whole school.
I think all of my own author visits for this year are over but already I am pencilling in dates for next year.
Sally Heinrich and I are meeting this Tuesday to have a look at Papa Sky and mull over a few fine details with our publisher Anna Solding from MidnightSun Publishing. Papa Sky is due to be released in August 2017.
Tomorrow I am booked in to the ABC studios at Collingwood to do an interview for ABC Radio Canberra and ABC Radio Melbourne, and then I have a phone interview with Radio 5AA in the afternoon with Jeremy Cordeaux.
On Wednesday I am doing a phone interview with Radio 4RO 990 AM which is a Queensland station and then on Saturday and interview with Cath Kenneally at Radio Adelaide for the Arts Breakfast Programme.
The following Thursday I am doing a phone interview with Barry Nicholls from ABC Radio WA on his Statewide Afternoons Programme.
These interviews have all been organised by the publicity machine behind Radio Rescue.
