Aarti on Mother Ganga

Well here we are in Rishikesh! We walked down through the bazaar tonight and crossed the swinging bridge at Luxman Jhula and then walked up to the Parmarth Niketan Ashram  where puja and Aarti was happening. Lots of singing, music  and prayers and then people let their little boats go into Mother Ganga. The boats are loaded with flowers, incense and a candle. I bought one from the two boys in the photo and let it go.

Sitting on the balcony of our hotel and can smell incense floating up. It is warm and balmy with clear starry skies.

I bought one of these and set it free on Mother Ganga
